The Witches by Roald Dahl
Fiction October 22nd, 2009
Witches are really quite evil creatures. All dressed up in fancy clothes disguised as innocent human women. DISGUSTING! When a Norwegian born English boy’s parents die, he is sent to live with his Norwegian grandmother, he was always fascinated by his grandmothers stories but the ones he loved most were the ones about the witches!
If you want to read grandmama’s stories then just get the book out of the library and dig in! I have read this book many times and recommend it for children aged 7-15.

Abbey,
I’ve been a fan of Roald Dahl’s since I first read James and the Giant Peach many years ago. I thought he did an amazing job of creating horrible, hateful aunts, so I’ll look forward to reading about his witches.
I don’t know if you’ve read Boy, but after reading his memory of going to the dentist, I felt as though I had an insight into his ability to create some pretty uncaring adult characters.
Thanks for sharing.
